VR AS A PRODUCTION TOOL IN HOLLYWOOD: LION KING
WIRED magazine has a very interesting article: they're on set, as Jon Favreau uses Virtual Reality to create a new look for the new LION KING from Disney.
The "look" is something more than pure motion capture or animation can achieve.
The new LION KING film is scheduled to open July 19, 2019.
Here's the official trailer:
Currently, James Cameron is making a sequel or two... or four of AVATAR using VR. AVATAR (in the IMAX version) is the single most impressive film ever made in 3D. Cameron is possibly the most focused, intense director at work today. His new AVATAR could be spectacular.
AVATAR 2 is scheduled for release on December 17, 2021.
