A VISITOR FROM BEYOND THE SOLAR SYSTEM
An object, somewhat less than a quarter-mile (400 meters) in diameter approached our solar system from above, swung around the sun, and shot past the Earth at about 60 times the distance to the moon, and is now on its way out.
Given its orbit, coming from above the solar system, it appears to have come from a system around some distant star in the direction of the constellation Lyra.
NASA has provided a description of the object, its discovery, and its orbit.
