BACTERIAL COMPUTER
BIOCOMPUTING WITH BACTERIA & VIRUSES
E Coli bacteria are genetically engineered to act as a switch, while viruses that the bacteria emit act to transmit information to other bacteria. In effect, the bacteria acts as a switch; the virus acts as current.
To top it off, other bacteria are engineered to express particular colors when they are in the presence of appropriate viruses emitted by bacteria.
So the bacterial system, using bacteria as a switch and display device. with viruses to transmit information, is engineered both to act as a computer / logic system and as a display system.
